'Julie 2' Based on Real Actress's Life:: Stunning photos & News

Her affair with a married Tamil-Telugu superstar drove her out of the south Indian film industry and she went on to become a big name in Bhojpuri films. The story of the protagonist in Julie 2 is based on the life of a well-known glamorous actress of the 1990s and 2000s. The film's makers are withholding the actress' name to avoid legal trouble for the film, says its presenter Pahlaj Nihalani.

As a hint, the actress concerned started her career with a Hindi film featuring one of the Khan superstars. But it was her booming career in the south, in Tamil and Telugu cinema, that made her a star. However, her affair with a married Tamil-Telugu superstar drove her out of the south Indian film industry and she went on to become a big name in Bhojpuri films.

Such incidents and episodes from the real-life actress are replicated faithfully in Julie 2.

Julie 2 lead actress Raai Laxmi said: "I am not denying the similarities between my character and the actress. These similarities are there. I don't know if they're deliberate or just a coincidence."

However, Nihalani said, "It's definitely based on the actress.... In fact, one of the main actors who is a part of our cast was also involved with that actress. We are not naming her as we don't want our film to be stopped. But once the film opens next Friday, it will be obvious to all which real-life actress Raai Laxmi is playing."

Julie 2 is an Hindi thriller film written, co-produced and directed by Deepak Shivdasani and produced by Vijay Nair.It features Raai Laxmi in the lead role which marks her debut in Hindi cinema. This is the sequel to Shivdasani's earlier film Julie (2004).

Viju Shah composes the film's score and soundtrack while Sameer Reddy handles the cinematography. Principal photography commenced in September 2015. Filming locations include Mumbai, Hyderabad and Dubai. The film's first look poster was released on 14 February 2016 coinciding with Valentine's Day.

Raai Lakshmi made her debut at the age of 17 in the Tamil film Karka Kasadara in 2005.[9] Subsequently, she appeared in a number of Tamil films, including the comedy film Kundakka Mandakka (2005) opposite R. Parthiban, Perarasu's action-masala flick Dharmapuri (2006), and the romance film Nenjai Thodu (2007). In 2008, she began working in more serious films such as the drama film Velli Thirai, in which she played herself, and the action thriller Dhaam Dhoom directed by Jeeva. She received positive feedback for her portrayal of a lawyer in the latter. A review from Behindwoods wrote: "The latter (Raai Lakshmi) sizzles even as she is supposed to play the court professional who is caught in the web of smuggling drugs". She won her first Filmfare Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category.
